Labour Party logoYour views needed! Some residents of Hollingbury Road and the Dip have contacted me about the possible effects for our area of the proposed controlled parking scheme north of London Road Station, on the western side of Ditchling Road in all roads between Springfield Road and Stanford Avenue.

Their understandable concern is that such schemes have a knock-on effect in neighbouring areas, and that,  if this scheme goes ahead,  it could mean more people looking for places to park in, for instance,  Hollingbury Road , the top end of Upper Hollingdean Road and even further down into the Dip where there is already pressure on parking.

I will be calling for local residents to be formally consulted by the Council about this plan as so far it is unclear who the Council intends to consult – apart from people living in the roads to be included in the scheme.

That’s why, as your Councillor , I am asking for your views now so that they can be taken into account by the Council when it is making decisions about this issue.
