The council is proposing a 50% cut in its community funding in the new year.  This will badly affect all the hard work and projects that have been delivered so successfully in the area.  Hollingdean Development Project, Liz Lee (Trust for Developing Communities community development worker) and many volunteers have provided an amazing range of services and activities for a very modest amount of funding.  Now this is under threat.

With a small amount of money from the council they have:- supported the now thriving community centre that the council neglected for years; run local events like T in the park; successfully fundraised for the new skatepark; and countless other local community group support. So please write letters and emails to the council to try and get them to reverse their bad decision. Now is the time to act as the cut could mean losing part or all of Liz’s hours, and other funding, after March.
